KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER OFFICE
The Knowledge Transfer Office serves as the bridge between the University and the community for the transfer of knowledge, technology, expertise, skills and capabilities in campus-wide disciplines. We also run the Business Entrepreneurship Support and Training programme in the University. One of the major duties is to conduct studies and investigations to help to measure the impacts of our various workshops, public lectures and seminars. The Office now invites applications for the position below:
The appointee is expected to (a) engage with faculties and industries to protect and facilitate the commercialisation of intellectual property rights (IPRs) of the University; (b) work closely with research staff in the University to expand project pipeline and develop portfolio of IPRs, and industry and research partners; (c) conduct market research, IPRs due diligence and technology assessment independently to evaluate the commercial opportunity of the University's intellectual properties; (d) maintain a good knowledge of the market trend and build network with local professionals for potential collaborations; (e) assist in the commercialisation of technologies generated, professional legal documents proofreading and copywriting (English and Chinese); (f) execute IPRs project management for technology entrepreneurship and enterprises; and (g) perform other duties as assigned. Incumbent with a mature, meticulous and careful personality who is also a team player is highly preferred. Business travel is required.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree, preferably a higher degree, in the disciplines of Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Law (preferably IP Law) is preferred. They should have at least five years of relevant work experience with proven track records in IP protection, industry engagement, business development or technology commercialization. Candidates with legal knowledge of intellectual property and work experience in information and communication technology, display and lighting or pharmaceutical industries would be an advantage. Incumbent should be able to work independently and provide advice to senior management, have a sense of ownership for work, possess good interpersonal and communication skills, have basic knowledge/skill in information technology for updating information at the website and IP management system. Good command in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Proficiency in Putonghua is preferred.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
