Officer / Assistant Officer (Environmental Health and Safety - Environment and Sustainability)

Location: Kowloon Tong

ESTATES OFFICE

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) is embarking on a strategic direction of developing the University towards a low-carbon and environmentally sustainable campus. He/She will assist the Estates Office in executing different environmental programmes for the strategic development and sustainability initiatives, including promotion of HKBU Campus Environmental Sustainability Index (CESI) and Campus Sustainability Guide, enforcement of Green Event Regulations as well as other programmes through different communication channels for achieving sustainability targets. The appointee will also assist the collection and analysis of different qualitative and quantitative data for the HKBU CESI. He/She will participate in conducting carbon audit and compiling relevant reports, reducing the carbon footprint, exploring partnership opportunities for green community projects as well as maintaining and expanding green voluntary network for outreaching the general community.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in the field of Environmental Science, Marketing, Communications or related disciplines, with at least three years of relevant post-qualification experience. Strong statistical skills including proficiency in statistical programming, database querying skills and predictive analysis techniques are highly desirable. Ability to plan, organise and execute is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, experience in building relationship with key community stakeholders are highly desirable. Demonstrated ability in liaising with internal clients such as student bodies and academic departments and external organisations including government is an advantage. Applicants with less qualification and experience will be considered for the post of Assistant Officer. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
