SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION
The School of Continuing Education, one of the seven Faculties/Schools of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full- and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 430 full-time staff and 550 part-time instructors. The School is now inviting applications for the following position in the Office of the Dean of Continuing Education:
Executive Officer (PR0172/18-19)
The appointee is expected to provide administrative support to research activities of the School from handling of project applications to coordinating project report production. Duties include a) providing support in the formulation of management and operation guidelines in related areas; b) coordinating research grant applications; c) providing administrative support to research initiatives and activities, including co-ordination in the compilation of papers and writing up of reports; and d) serving as secretary for committees. He/She will also be required to assist in online education development and other strategic initiatives of the School.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree with at least four years of relevant experience, preferably in research administration and related co-ordination work. They should have excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), effective communication, interpersonal and analytical skills. Strong sense of responsibility, discreet handling of documents, and proficiency in computer applications including MS Office applications (English and Chinese) are required.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written assessment.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
