Assistant Programme Officer / Executive Assistant
The Department of Economics is seeking a self-motivated and responsible individual with good interpersonal skills to fill the position of Assistant Programme Officer/Executive Assistant.
The appointee is expected to carry out general administrative, admission and promotional duties related to a Master’s degree programme as well as to provide support to the daily operation of the Department. Duties include (a) providing administrative and secretarial support to the Programme Office as well as the Departmental and other curriculum-related duties; (b) maintaining programme/course databases and financial matters; (c) liasing with internal and external parties, including overseas parties, part-time staff, firms/companies, and programme guests; (d) preparing meeting agenda, minutes and statistics with analysis; (e) involving in programme promotion related activities, including occasional overseas or local travel for admission and promotion functions; (f) performing other relevant administrative tasks as assigned by the Department Head and Programme Director.
Applicants should possess (i) a Bachelor’s degree / Higher Diploma or above, with at least one to two years of work experience; relevant experience in tertiary education sector will be an advantage; (ii) strong communication skills and be able to work independently; (iii) be self-motivated in performing tasks with detailed and analytical mind; (iv) good knowledge in computer applications and very good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua). Candidates with less qualification and experience will be considered for the post of Executive Assistant.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and computer application test.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one year commencing as early as possible. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
