Assistant Professor

The Department of Chinese Language and Literature (CHI) and The Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology (JAS) jointly invite applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Chinese Culture. The appointee is expected to: (a) teach courses in traditional Chinese Culture; (b) supervise students in thesis writing; (c) design, prepare, and revise course syllabi; and (d) perform administrative duties assigned by the Head of CHI and the Director of JAS.

Applicants should have a PhD degree in Chinese Culture, or a relevant discipline, a high international standing in the field, plus an excellent track record of high-quality research and scholarly publications.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of three years commencing September 2017. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
