Officer (Inventory Management)

Scope of Duties:

HAECO ITM Limited is a joint venture between HAECO (Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Co. Ltd) and Cathay Pacific, providing inventory technical management services to different airline customers in Hong Kong and around the world. Customers anticipate to benefit saving from the ITM services through synergy of component pooling, sound technical know-how of component engineering, repair and supplier management.

HXITM is now looking for candidates who are interested in this business for the position of Officer (Inventory Management).

  • Manage stock service level (KPI#1) and analyze monthly data to identify performance drivers and forewarn related functional teams to take appropriate action
  • Analyze all the RSPLs of Cathay Fleet in order to evaluate and determine the optimum level of initial provisioning (IP) stock that could support the smooth operation of Cathay
  • Review with Component Management Team and CX Reliability Team for the optimum float level to support the short term increase of demand due to reliability problems
  • Review with CX Operations Team and Repair Management Team for the optimum float level to support the short term increase of shop turnaround time due to MOR/LTR investigation and other problems
  • Manage the bi-annual float requirement analysis as per CX/HX Contract
  • Support BER (beyond economical repair) evaluation and provide availability and market price to repair team. Challenge BER decision and provide check and balance for high cost component
  • Manage scrap replenishment evaluation and solicitation to reduce the risk of excessive purchase for component with decreasing usage trend
  • Evaluate quotations and verify part acceptance requirements in order to identify the best offer that meets both the technical and commercial requirements
  • Manage the purchasing process including order creation, delivery monitoring, invoice discrepancy handling, and supplier performance management
  • Source and evaluate non-traditional support models to satisfy short-term demands other than purchase


  • A recognized Degree in Engineering, Business or other job related disciplines
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in aviation industry
  • Knowledge or experience in inventory management of technical components would be an advantage
  • Analytical, results-oriented, customer focus and good project management skills
  • A good team player with strong supervisory skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written
