Job Description

Environment, Health & Safety Manager

Location: Chep Lak Kok

  • Provide advice and support to the management team in defining its long term EHS strategic goals / objectives and identify opportunities that enable the company to deliver these objectives
  • Take the lead in implementing the strategic EHS plan to improve EHS performance throughout all operations
  • Maintain and monitor the company’s EHS management systems in compliance with statutory requirements and Swire/ HAECO Group policies
  • Take the lead in managing the Safety risk register. Identify the major risk items, evaluate and give advice to improve the control measures, with the aim of driving down risk levels within the Company
  • Oversee the reporting of performance trends relating to Lost Time Injury, minor injury, near miss incidents, traffic safety and environmental issues and develop strategies to improve their performance
  • Provide professional EHS guidance and support across all departments and functions within the business
  • Develop and review safety related Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and take up the EHS responsive roles under any crisis situations
  • Participate in safety governance meetings within HK Operations to help develop EHS policies, procedures and their implementation and review their effectiveness
  • Participate in HAECO Group EHS committees to share best practices amongst the Group and identify opportunities to standardise and streamline practices within the in HK operations
  • Motivate the EHS team to develop a continuous improvement culture within the Company. Empower the team to lead EHS activities and to act as ‘change agents’ across the business
  • Develop the EHS team members and provide career development support and advice
  • Provide adequate resources and support the EHS team to carry out their EHS functions

  • A recognized Degree in Industrial Engineering, Quality Management or related disciplines
  • Experience of OSHAS18001, ISO14001, ISO50001 would be an advantage
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant working experience, including 2 years in team management would be advantage
  • Experience in business continuity and crisis management will be advantage
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, presentation, communication and project management skills
  • Good leadership skills
  • Able to drive result and cultivate a change culture
  • Good command of English and Chinese, both spoken and written
