Assistant General Manager (Component Engineering)

Scope of Duties:

  • Own, develop and manage  the component repair capability development strategy in accordance to the department’s commercial direction
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement to drive down cost and improve efficiencies and quality of the repair process
  • Enhance cost effectiveness through the development of
    • Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA)
    • Designated Engineering Representative (DER) repairs
    • EASA Part 21 DOA approval to support in-house tooling, equipment and repair processes development
  • Manage and control the department’s performance in
    • capability development
    • quality compliances
    • production engineering support
  • Develop and coach team members
  • Liaise with other internal departments and external parties including
    • Production department to ensure continuous improvement in engineering efficiency, quality and performance
    • Commercial department to ensure capability development plan alignment with customer demand
    • OEMs to ensure engineering requirements are satisfied
    • Quality Assurance department and Authorities to ensure compliance in production workshop, equipment, process, people and documentation


  • A recognized Degree in Aeronautical, Engineering or related disciplines;
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in aircraft component engineering;
  • A minimum of 5 years in management roles
  • Good business sense with strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to manage from the financial aspect, especially on return of investment
  • Strong leadership and project management skills;
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written
