Director Project Management Center of Excellence

Location: Hong Kong, Hong Kong, HK, 12345

The Director Project Management will lead the Project Management Center of Excellence and be accountable for setting Standards and Best Practice and for all Project Management processes and procedures within the Product Development organization. This role will lead the downstream Project Management function and will be the main point of contact for upstream PM COE ensuring alignment and collaboration across the teams. Working closely with the Category Leads to determine and improve project management practices to maximize ROI, ensuring resources are effectively deployed, item counts are measured and optimized, and flux is controlled and mitigated ensuring the shipped product meets brand goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

Project Management Processes & Procedures

  • Manage and develop Project Management CoE function and set team’s business goals
  • Lead and drive Practitioner Community 
  • Accountable for setting Standards and Best Practice and ensuring consistent adoption across the Project Management function
  • Accountable for all Project Management processes, procedures, and tools
  • Process Governance adhering to compliance performance improvements
  • Drive common processes and requirements across categories and locations
  • Drive continuous improvement with respect to project management processes and ensure implementation is possible with available resources and technology
  • Identify improvement needs and develop yearly improvement plan
  • Design and develop processes, capabilities and manufacturing solutions ensuring we are at the forefront of leading practices

Project Prioritization and Performance Management 

  • Lead, monitor and analyze the Product Development end to end process working closely with the Product Development teams and external partners to deliver project and brand goals and objectives
  • Provide innovative ideas and methods for reducing development timelines
  • Aid in our ability to manage the portfolio to maximize opportunity and return
  • Analyze and identify emerging internal trends, develop solutions in collaboration with Product Development teams as needed
  • Identify and support in resolving and mitigating product cost concerns, partner with the teams to ensure capacity to meet brand requirements and lead team for resolution if required
  • As the connection between budgeting, capitalization and product delivery, drive the decision-making process providing visibility to delivery and business impact
  • Analyze metrics to ensure resources are allocated and prioritized across categories based on portfolio strategy and direction
  • Serve as escalation point for the Project Management Leads when significant issues or delays are anticipated

Career Path Management

  • Review and validate knowledge, skills, personal characteristics, and experience required for project managers to progress in the Hasbro D&D organization
  • Review and validate Project Management Training curriculum
  • Work with upstream CoE to adjust Project Management career path and career development for downstream 
  • Train and coach Category and Project Leads on assessing Project Managers Competency and creating learning plans
  • Drive and strengthen Project Management Competency
  • Plan and execute related trainings / learning plans
  • Coach and mentor the Project Management team

Requirements:

  • Degree in an engineering or business discipline
  • 10 or more years of relevant experience in Project Management
  • PMP or equivalent certification required
  • Solid knowledge in project management area and development practices
  • Knowledge and demonstrate use of project management tools, Office applications and presentation software
  • Strong focus on quality
  • Personal drive to reach the objectives and targets set for function
  • Ability to create a vision and strategy and direct the function and category leaders towards that vision
  • Ability to influence peers and manage resources indirectly to drive goals
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills (oral and written)
