Tax - Transaction Tax - Staff/Senior Accountant
Location: CN-Hong Kong-Hong Kong
Our Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) team works with clients to manage their capital agenda to drive competitive advantage and increased returns. As part of a global team of 10,000 professionals in 100 countries you will advise clients on preserving, optimizing, raising or investing capital. Major groups (or, as we call them, sub-service lines and competencies) within TAS include Mergers and Acquisition Services, Project Finance, Restructuring Services, Operational Transaction Services, Transaction Support, Transaction Tax, and Valuation and Business Modeling.
As part of our Transaction Tax team you will advise companies and private equity investors on all tax aspects of their transactions, whether it is an acquisition, spin-off, merger, de-merger, joint venture, refinancing, restructuring or stock exchange transaction, such as an IPO. You will help clients negotiate every stage of a deal, from inception and initial due diligence, to tax-efficient transaction structuring, right through to assistance with the sale and purchase agreement. You will also work alongside restructuring colleagues to advise companies in financial distress, including those in formal insolvency proceedings, on sales of non-core businesses to restore their balance sheets.

Participate in Transaction Tax engagements
Work effectively as a member of a worldwide network of professional advisors, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress
Collaborate with a team of Transaction Tax professionals to combine diverse cross-border transaction experience with local tax knowledge across a broad spectrum of industries
Participate and assist in preparing for meetings essential to the transaction process, e.g., meetings with the management teams of the buyer, seller or target or with their other advisors and providers of finance
Assist in preparing reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other parties
Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel
Build strong internal relationships within the Transaction Tax practice and across other service lines
To qualify, you must fulfill the following requirements:
A bachelor's degree with strong academic credentials - accounting, business, finance or a related field desirable but not essential. MBA, Masters of Tax, JD and LLM a plus
At least 1 year of relevant tax experience
Well-developed analytical and research skills and an ability to draw conclusions from often equivocal or conflicting data
The ability to manage a project efficiently
Occasional travel is required
Fluent English and Chinese (both written and verbal communication)
