Asia-Pacific Tax Center - Tax Performance Advisory - Manager (Hong Kong)
Location: CN-Hong Kong-Hong Kong
As a Manager for Tax Performance Advisory (TPA), you will be supporting companies in developing leading tax functions. We advise our clients on the strategic and operational challenges facing their tax functions; help to identify issues and implement practical improvements for more efficient, effective and sustainable tax functions. We offer a broad array of services around tax function performance covering people, process and technology, including tax strategy design, tax processes standardization and automation, source data set up for tax, data collection and tax reporting/compliance automation, etc.
Ideally, you should have experience in the tax/finance division of a multinational company, or you are a professional of tax/audit services. You will have strong skills on MS Excel, or with software generally. Although it is not essential, but it will be appreciated if you have good knowledge of how accounting systems (e.g. SAP, Hyperion) are set-up and used to generate data and compliance; understanding of databases; and good project management experience.
Projects that you can expect to be involved in:
Tax Function Evaluation and Optimization: Evaluate or optimize tax operation structure by assessing current state, benchmarking with leading practice, providing optimization solution options, etc.
Process and Controls Enhancement: Re-design and deploy streamlined tax processes including new technology solutions with clear roles and responsibilities, standardized work processes, proper controls embedded to manage risks
Data and Systems Effectiveness: Embed the needs of Tax into Finance and IT systems to increase automation and data quality throughout tax processes; automate tax processing, tax compliance and reporting through various tax technologies
Risk Management: Assess and prioritize tax risks to establish a proper control environment that takes into account the various regulatory regimes
To qualify, you must meet the following requirements:
A bachelor’s degree and approximately 5-8 years of relevant work experience
Strong leadership ability, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and analytical abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
We also seek candidates with a keen interest and experience in improving the performance of tax functions, the demonstrated ability to team with and motivate others, and willingness to develop meaningful and influential relationships with clients and colleagues.
