Asia-Pacific Tax Center - Indirect Tax - Global Trade - Manager (Hong Kong)

EY’s Asia-Pacific Tax Center (APTC) operates as a team of highly experienced tax professionals from across Asia-Pacific who focuses on delivering efficient and effective resources to companies in the region. A core element of the APTC’s work is the delivery of operational excellence initiatives that drive strategic business growth for our clients – Operating Model Effectiveness (OME). These initiatives are increasingly supported by the use of data analytics from a customs and indirect tax perspective – Trade Data Analytics (TDA).
APTC forms part of EY’s wider tax practice that revolves around helping clients effectively advising their tax obligations proactively and responsibly. As part of a global team of 35,000 tax professionals in 150 countries, you will advise clients on planning, compliance and reporting.
We are currently seeking Managers for our APTC Global Trade – Indirect Tax team to lead, participate and supervisor multiple OME and TDA engagements.
Demonstrate an understanding of complex supply chain concepts and effectively apply customs and indirect tax knowledge to client situations
Assist in developing and delivering quality OME and TDA works products in a timely and responsive manner
Thoroughly analyse client information. Prepare quality practical approaches to the client’s situation
Advise the work of client service team members. Provide training and retain team members
Develop recommendations and implementation plans for clients and team members
To qualify, you must meet the following requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree (a Master’s degree or accounting/tax qualification is preferred)
Minimum of five years of work experience in a professional services or professional tax organization dealing with customs and indirect tax matters
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Strong project management skills
Ability to work in a fast paced professional services environment
In addition, the candidate would ideally have:
A working knowledge of one Asian language
Practical experience of designing and implementing supply chain transformation projects
