Asia-Pacific Markets Communications and Engagement Manager

Location: CN-Hong Kong

Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders across brand, marketing and communications and the broader business, with the purpose of establishing sponsors and subject matter resources for key communication programs
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with the Markets leadership team
  • Contribute to the development of the Markets internal communication and engagement strategy, and apply the strategy appropriately to meet the needs of the business
  • Assist in driving a culture of Account-centric, rather than service-line specific behaviors for our clients, through effective internal communications approaches
  • Develop effective change management and communication strategies for needs arising within Markets.
  • Support the Asia-Pacific Markets function in communicating and engaging people across Asia-Pacific on the broad Accounts agenda including Integrated Planning, Growth Markets programs, Business Development, Knowledge, and other Markets enablement functions.
  • Produce written internal communications from the Asia-Pacific Accounts Leader (to MSL/RAL audience) and Asia-Pacific Business Development Leader (to BD audience), and provide counsel on leading practice and communication innovations
  • Support the management and deployment of annual Asia-Pacific Executive events and key leadership meetings throughout the year and support pre-and-post communications
  • Work with Communications and Marketing colleagues focused on external (market focused) programs to align internal and external messages, ensuring consistency across all brand, marketing and communications
  • Work closely with the service line communications managers to ensure alignment between Markets and service line messaging
  • Work collaboratively with the five Regions within Asia-Pacific, to support deployment of Global and Asia-Pacific programs, and feedback local challenges and successes to the Executive team
  • Provide guidance, information and support to enable the successful deployment of relevant Markets programs, including Sector, Digital, Integrated planning etc.
  • Support methods for driving innovation and change across the organization
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on issues and topics relevant to Markets and client service
Knowledge, Competency and Skill Requirements:

  • Partner with stakeholders to identify business needs; proactively provide exceptional client service; advise clients on communications strategies; work collaboratively and effectively with peer functions and stakeholders to deliver on EY and BMC strategic priorities
  • Develop appropriate project plans in alignment with BMC project management methodologies and professional standards; effectively partner with stakeholders to execute against project plans; be adaptable and proactive in addressing project challenges
  • Show initiative, coupled with accuracy and attention to detail; demonstrate reliability
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage several projects concurrently; demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Be a strong team player and lateral thinker, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually and independently
  • Understand EY’s business; effectively navigate EY’s and BMC’s matrix organization to access, inform and engage the right people at the right time
  • Demonstrate excellent communications and networking experience and skills in a wide range of situations and with people at all levels within the organization, including global leadership
  • Demonstrate knowledge, skills and abilities concerning global business fundamentals, business models, ethics, competitive analysis and cross-cultural/geographical sensitivities
Other Requirements:
  • Ideally, this role would be based in Hong Kong or Australia
  • Global travel will be required pending business needs.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent area of study or experience); professional or higher qualification in Communications, Corporate Communications, Marketing Communications or Public Relations preferred
  • Significant strategic internal communications experience with proven track record supporting executive teams
  • Experience in a cross-border role, managing complex global programs
  • Working knowledge of EY, the professional services sector, or matrix organizations
  • Ability to interact, influence and communicate effectively with key stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written English
  • Fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin advantageous but not required
