Job Description

Senior Manager, Network Planning, Asia Pacific

Working Location : Chek Lap Kok


Reporting to the Senior Director, Network Planning & Optimization, this role will support the Senior Director on the administration, management, design and development of DHL Express Asia Pacific door to door cross border and domestic air and ground network as well as provide service & cost that meet business needs. This role will also provide cost effective network configurations and operational analysis in response to service requirements, volume growth, shifts in product mix and specific business requirements on both a strategic and tactical level.  The major responsibilities include the following:
  • Manage established network schedule, system and database timely and professionally 
  • Act as key regional coordinator with stakeholders from countries and global as well as our business partners on the network administration
  • Be pro-active tactical planning of intra-Asia network capacity and routings in order to optimize the network and achieve best transit time and cost efficiency
  • Maintain, enhance and develop method, database and tool to ensure and increase the work efficiency and accuracy 
  • Maintain and liaise with local, regional and global stakeholders up-to-date network statistic, documentary and network related information
  • Provide data analysis, specific performance reports and advice for Aviation management and other stakeholders, partners upon request
  • Support projects and programs requiring expertise from network planning and optimization
  • Monitor the competitive market changes, work with other stakeholders to identify gaps with analysis, presentation in terms of transit time among others major impact and advise solution
  • Support air, road and other initiatives with network planning, routing, data and costing expertise
  • Provide comprehensive summaries, overview, illustration and presentation explaining the impact of the idea, study and plan for network optimization and development
  • Support regular high level evaluation, network feasibility study and business cases development.
  • Investigate long term strategic options relating to network configuration to enhance service performance in a cost-effective manner.
  • Interpret and analyze the measurement, monitoring and actions for performance and productivity improvement to ensure operational KPI’s are met
  • Exercise the best judgment in allocating the role of air and road within the network, and integrating and rationalizing existing facilities
  • Develop on-going cost control programs through improved capacity management techniques 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent
  • 6 years of relevant working experience (preferably in the operations area)
  • Thorough understanding in aviation industry
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Effective analytical problem solving skills & high-level reasoning
  • Well-developed planning and organization skills
  • Proficiency in MS applications including Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Good interpersonal skills in interacting with people at different level
  • Good team spirit
