Regional Sourcing Manager

Role Description: Regional Sourcing Manager, Asia Pacific, Facilities Management and Utilities (FMU)

Typical Activities:

Typical Scope & Complexities / Key Facts:

  • Addressable scope:              

    • FMU Spend across Asia is 150M EUR across 26 countries

    • General Facility Management including repairs & maintenance, cleaning, security, lighting and utilities

    • APAC Region also requires Procurement support on project work from Corporate Real Estate

    • Major countries are Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Australia, Thailand, India and Japan

  • Focus

    • Develop regional strategy for all sub categries within FMUbuilding on the global strategies

    • Cost saving through TCO price modeling

    • Subject Matter Expert especially in the areas Integrated Facility Management and utilities

    • Simplification and standardisation of the category  to remove existing complexity e.t Cross Business Unit synergies and volume bundling

    • Other procurement priorities (compliance, e-sourcing tools, etc.)

    • Internal customer satisfaction

    • Coaching and development of Services Virtual team throughout Asia and part of the global FMU Team

  • Key Business Partners:

    • DHL Express

    • DHL Global Forwarding

    • DHL Supply Chain

    • DHL E Commerce

  • Key interactions:

    DHL Engineering, Operations Excellence and Site Managers together with DHL Real Estate

    Serving as Procurement Professionals:

  • Develop, maintain and share thorough knowledge of Asia Pacific: 
    - markets / category trends
    - suppliers / regional & global players

  • Develop local and contribute to regional and global category sourcing strategies and initiatives

  • Prepare & lead strategic supplier negotiation with local suppliers

  • Prepare, conduct and lead tenders (incl. E-sourcing)

  • Ensure effective implementation of DPDHL Procurement contracts 

  • Ensure (sourcing, purchasing, company) policy adherence of regional / local Business Partners

  • Conduct local & regional supplier management and identify new best in class regional suppliers

  • Manage local budgets and contribute to regional targets

    Acting as Influential Partners:

  • Establish close relationships with regional/country BPs to ensure actual / future knowledge of demand and service quality; build and maintain solid understanding of respective business needs

  • Ensure strong working relationship & cooperation with (in addition to Business Partners):

    • region/country and corporate sourcing / category managers,

    • strategic suppliers,

    • external partnerships locally (other organizations)

Working as Capable Leaders:

  • lead, manage & develop teams across multiple locations in Asia Pacific.

    Relevant Qualification:

  • Relevant university degree and/or  equivalent experience

  • English

  • Local language as needed

    Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in procurement general management

  • Proven experience in leading negotiations of mid/large volume, high impact and with different degrees of complexity

  • Leading diverse and remote teams

  • Experience with mid-sized project management

  • Category experience in all areas of the Services Cluster

  • Experience in tendering and implementing first generation IFM and/or deploying a regional APAC Utiities strategy would be prefereable.
