Occupational Health & Safety / Employee Relations Manager

  • Working with country management team to develop, coordinate, implement, and review improvement plans / programs for ensuring legal compliance, preventing staff from injury at work, reducing loss of working days
  • Ensuring DHL policy, facilities & equipment are in line with local statutory standards, and providing safety standards & setting policies for management to adhere to, and also guidelines/procedures   
  • Providing specialist advice on corrective measures or safety/health issues to employees when needed   
  • Managing service quality delivered by external providers especially on employee rehabilitation programs or Employee Assistance Program to our employees
  • Communicating and providing framework for management team to work on improvement items from Employee Survey results, with the assistance of HR Business Manager
  • Working in collaboration with HR Business Manager in promoting employee engagement and satisfaction; building understanding & communication from employees, ensuring an open, responsive and harmonious working environment
  • Initiating/Managing staff recognition programs, eg Employee of the Year, Employee of the Month, etc to encourage a culture of high performance and reinforce the company values

Requirements

  • University Degree in Engineering or Human Resources Management; 
  • Professional Diploma in OHS or Registered Safety Officer of Hong Kong Labour Department (RSO) is a must; Registered Safety Auditor of Hong Kong Labour Department (RSA) / Chartered Safety & Health Practitioner will be an advantage
  • 7 years experience either in Occupational Health & Safety or employee/industrial  relations;  experience in front line operations with involvement in work safety / accident prevention programs will also be considered
  • Good presentation and project management skills
  • Ability to influence across all employee levels and lead cross functional teams
    Detail conscious, and be able to make sound and logical judgment
  • A self starter & able to work independently
