Manager – Strategic Projects-Asia Pacific

We develop, drive, and support the global strategy and brand for the overall Deloitte organization.  Employees of DTTL work on complex, business projects that connect and serve Deloitte client service practitioners across the world. 

The DTTL Asia Pacific Strategic Projects team is part of the Asia Pacific Regional Office in Hong Kong supporting the growth of the network and member firms through collaborative planning, development and implementation of strategic operational initiatives and growth strategies. The team supports the AP Regional Managing Director (RMD) and other regional leaders in the following key areas:

  1. development and implementation of regional and global strategic initiatives

  2. drive and manage regional DTTL strategic and operational activities

  3. manage and support Office of the AP RMD activities


We are hiring a Manager to assist in performing the responsibilities as listed below.  The position reports to the Director, AP Strategic Projects. We welcome applications from out of Hong Kong and those who are interested to relocate to Hong Kong.


  • Be part of the AP Strategic Projects team and provide on-going support to the AP Regional Managing Director, regional leaders and Director of Strategic Projects

  • Work with regional leaders, AP Strategic team and DTTL professionals  to execute and implement initiatives that help realize global and/or regional strategies at an operational level

  • Define scope, recommend approach, manage and execute strategic and operational projects (planning, designing, documenting, communicating, implementing and follow-up) with multiple stakeholders

  • Develop solutions, frameworks, and methodologies to address specific project needs

  • Monitor progress of strategic initiatives and address challenges when required

  • Provide operational support to initiatives in the form of a project management office where necessary

  • Use analytics and business acumen to identify, prioritize, structure, and solve complex business problems

  • Structure and conduct as necessary external and internal research using primary and secondary sources and ensure the logic, accuracy, and appropriate scope of fact bases to inform strategic projects

  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leaders in Asia Pacific

  • Develop presentations and reports for the AP Regional Managing Director and other regional leaders as required

  • Support AP RMD / DTTL operational activities, such as business planning, coordinate and organize meetings, and provide support in all related areas as necessary

  • Concurrently manage multiple projects in a results-oriented environment

  • People Management

  • Liaise with senior leaders across businesses, geographies, and industries

  • Work with key stakeholder groups to build and maintain relationships

  • Knowledge Sharing / Documentation

  • Identify opportunities to and build business networks within the organization

  • Structure and maintain project related materials on shared online repositories and ensure they are comprehensive and accurate

  • Share lessons learned/best practices from projects and the region with others in the network



  • Education:  Bachelor's degree in related field required    

                            MBA from a top tier program (optional)



Years of Experience/Career Level:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in strategy development and operations consulting in a top tier strategy consulting firm or strategic planning function in a professional services or corporate strategy environment


  1. Skills/Qualifications
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated experience in translating strategic goals / concepts into action plans and executing initiatives at an operational level

  • Experience in business process improvement and performance measurement desirable

  • Strong project management skills and ability to be self-directed and manage projects with minimal guidance

  • Strong quantitative, communication and presentation skills (ability to develop clear messages to effectively inform and influence decisions of senior leaders)

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • High degree of comfort working in an unstructured environment that requires solving complex, open-ended issues with incomplete data and little direction

  • Ability and willingness to work on a range of projects and participate in the development and execution of deliverables

  • High degree of endurance and flexibility to work through multiple iterations of work and quickly manage changing priorities and diverse subject matters

  • Ability to deliver under pressure and provide informed responses to leadership in short timeframes

  • Ability to handle sensitive leadership information with utmost confidentiality

  • Organised, proactive and results-orientated team player who can work in a small team within a global, matrix environment

  • Working experience in Asia and knowledge of another Asian language is desirable but not required
