Social Compliance & Sustainability Manager
A leading global sports-wear brand is now looking to hire a Social Compliance & Sustainability Manager to join their global sourcing hub based in Hong Kong. Responsibilities:-
- Develop and implement an effective and sustainable CSR and EHS programme in order to enable the company to evaluate vendors accordingly
- Align the company's sourcing strategies with various labour and environmental laws
- Ensure vendors are aware and in line with the company's standards
- Draw, implement and execute a suitable strategy in order to set up a set of SOP, training, structure and programme for internal and external parties
- Organise audits at Vendors with external parties, keeping track of reports and prepare and implement relative action plans
- Manage P&L and process expenses
- Working together with the HQ, develop suitable strategies to deal with relevant social and governing organisations
- Assist and consult the HQ during important engagements with internal and external stakeholders along with potential allegations of concerns
- Travel regularly to suppliers and the brand's branch offices if needed
- Set up and implement an effective sustainability and human rights strategy and system
Requirements:-
- Bachelor Degree or above in human rights / social responsibility or related discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in similar position including hands-on auditing experience
- Must have strong knowledge and awareness of global Social / EHS / Sustainability requirements
- Must have in-depth understanding of ILO conventions, local law and policies and regulations in production countries
- Strong understanding of fashion and apparel production process and challenges
- Experience in setting up and successfully implementing various compliance programmes will be highly preferred
- Experience with HIGG index and relevant reviews and assessments
- Good experience in various sourcing bases such as China, South East Asia and Southern Asia along with the Middle East will be highly preferred
- Willingness to travel frequently
- Strong MS Office Software ability
- Must write & speak strong English and Chinese
