Regional Managing Director - Based in India

This is a unique opportunity to join a leading global sourcing company's senior leadership team as the regional managing director for their sourcing operations. The role will be based in India, leading a team of over 200 staffs and managing a business of over US$300m, you will be managing the sourcing operation of their home and fashion & apparel products across the region, whilst reporting into the Group's Managing Director.


  • Responsible for all sourcing and development activities across the region
  • Manage over 200 staffs across the region, lead, train and develop the team to ensure their long term consistent performance
  • Strategically define and execute suitable and effective sourcing strategies and plans
  • Be alert to ongoing sourcing and development trends across the region and ensure the sourcing network has the necessary needs to fulfil necessary requirements of the buyers of relative brands
  • Lead and manage the region's P&L responsibility - and ensure the corporate's value is instilled throughout the office(s)
  • Work closely with regional offices to develop relative localized plans and objectives
  • Suggest and execute relative KPIs across the regional offices and ensure relevant teams are meeting such indicators
  • Manage key projects such as transitions, new sourcing projects, office relocation or re-development, and other ad-hoc, strategic projects
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and buyers, along with strengthening their relationships with the internal teams
  • Ensure the staffs are optimizing their time and efforts by rightly delegating and structuring the organization
  • Supervise and engage in the office performance, implementing corrective plans and actions if necessary
  • Improve sourcing and merchandising efficiency and ensure performance on execution are of the highest standards
  • To manage and review annual appraisals, salary and performance rewards along with potential career advancements if needed
  • Ensure all workers within the office and all vendors behave according to the company's high level of compliance standards


  • Bachelor degree or above (MBA preferred) in sourcing, business management or related discipline
  • Minimum of 20 years' experience in sourcing for major US or EU buying offices
  • Must have at least 8 years' experience in leading large sized sourcing operations, fully managing P&D responsibilities along with teams of over 100 staffs
  • Must have strong knowledge plus work experience (5yrs +) in India
  • Product knowledge in home goods and fashion & apparel products will be seen as a plus
  • Must be willing to travel frequently
  • Must speak fluent English
