Job Description

System Engineer (Window & Linux)

Job Duties:

  • Install, setup and configure servers (Linux / Windows), including in high availability configuration
  • Plan, create and maintain the servers according to industry best practices to ensure their security, reliability and efficient day-to-day operations
  • Monitor and manage performance, responsiveness, space and available capacity of servers to ensure they operate reliably and efficiently without stoppages
  • Ensure proper and timely executive of scheduled jobs (including backups)
  • Collaborate with colleagues in deployment of IT solutions onto servers
  • Plan, manage and maintain documentation on systems
  • Plan and manage permission and access controls to the servers
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Higher Diploma or above in IT or similar subjects
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Windows / Linux server administration
  • Should have experience with Windows OS running 2003, 2008, 2012 & 2016 & Linux OS implementing and Managing OS running on Physical and HyperV / VM Ware Virtualization Technologies
  • Experience in trouble shooting Stand-Alone, Clusters, Active directory related issues in 2003, 2008, 2012, 2016 servers. Experience in DNS troubleshooting
  • Sound knowledge on system recovery, performance tuning parameters and analysis.
  • Handling & dealing of backup related issues (like Symantec Netbackup)
  • Troubleshooting and management of File and print server issues
  • Knowledge of local and remote computer system diagnostic tools and MS Repair kits
  • Good problem-solving skill and interpersonal skill
  • Good command of spoken and written of English and Chinese
