Postdoctoral Fellow/Senior Research Associate/Senior Research Assistant in the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management (Appointment for 12 months with possibility of extension)
Project : Innovative Guided-Wave Sensor and System for Inspecting the Integrity and Corrosion Extent of Buried or Covered Pipes
- Design models for guided waves (GW) emission and receipt, and the behavior of elastic waves when they are propagating in the inspected pipe;
- Develop simulation and perform necessary programming for the above inspection;
- Design and implement required sensors for GW-based inspection;
- Carry out research work, on-site testing and assist the Principle Investigator in all aspects; and
- Responsible for administration, teaching assistance and office-related work.
A Master’s degree in Engineering or related disciplines plus at least 1 year’s experience. Proficiency in MATLAB and LabView, and good knowledge and practical skills in mathematical modelling and simulation tools (such as ANSYS, Console and Abauqs) are required.
Candidates with a PhD and no more than 3 years’ postdoctoral experience may be considered for appointment as Postdoctoral Fellow.
