Hong Kong Securities Services - Client Executive

Location: APAC-HKG-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

Position Objective

The Client Executive will be mainly be responsible for managing major clients of Hong Kong Securities Services and work closely with the sales and product team to help define client strategy, contribute to pipeline growth, sales pitch and business growth for Citi.


  • Manages major client accounts and lead the resolution of relationship or service related issues to ensure clients’ satisfaction and retention of business
  • Work with sales to develop account plans and proactively identify opportunity to deepen share of wallet with these clients or for cross-selling
  • Work closely with sales and implementation team on major pitch or client onboarding to help win the mandate and ensure smooth implementation and proper handoff to client service team for the day to day support
  • Develop good understanding client’s business, strategy and key stakeholders/decision makers
  • Conduct regular service reviews and develop action plans to further improve on the service/product and client experience
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve services or products or processes and work with product team, operation, client service team and other business and function areas to execute the action plan for service improvement
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve or create new client or marketing materials e.g. thought-leader paper, market access guide, market profile, service profile to help demonstrate Citi strong local market expertise/insights and ability to influence local market changes to create value for our clients
  • Contribute to development of Hong Kong Securities Services business strategy and planning process and execution of the business/client strategy
  • Provide local market expertise support to sales, regional/global CE, network team on RFP and SLA preparation/negotiation and other marketing support to drive sales
  • Maintain strong local market knowledge (e.g. HK and Stock Connect) and China market access knowledge(QFII/RQFII, Mutual Recognition of funds) and provide expertise on custody services and Hong Kong/China market entry and solutions
  • Participates or represents Citi in HK industry forum/associations to help influence local market changes and stay abreast of the key developments
  • Assist with managing key relationship with the local regulator or market infrastructures if needed e.g. HKMA/CMU, HKEx, SFC



  • Experience with managing client relationship or work in other client service related roles
  • Solid knowledge of Custody/Asset Servicing/Broker Dealer or market infrastructure (HKSCC/CCASS/ICSDs) business 
  • Good understanding of Clearing and Custody product and operational flow of clearing and custody business
  • Services oriented, can understand, anticipate client’s need and exceed client’s expectation
  • Knowledge of international securities market requirements and practices
  • Fluent written and verbal English
  • Proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin/Putonghua is strongly preferred
