HK GCB Area Operations Manager

Location: APAC-HKG-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

The Area Operation manager is a specialist role which proactively supports the Branch Operation Head and branches in establishing a robust framework to manage the Operations and Service delivery across the Consumer Branch Network. The role also partners with the Consumer business and function owners including Branch Oversight Function (BOF) and IBC, on risk and control related aspects to guide and manage along with the business and function owners, on all matters related to Branch Operations, Service Delivery and Risks & Controls

Support the established procedures to ensure effective operations and service delivery across the Consumer Branch network. The incumbent will be required to ensure that the branches are trained on processes and procedures as laid down and validate adherence to the standards and practices established by the business as part of the regular operations of the branches to meet the wider objective of effective branch governance

The role is also required to work closely with other functions such as IBC/BOF, Information Security, COB, Outsourcing, Fraud, Records Management, CSIS and O&T Risk and Control (OTRC) to meet the above objectives. The role also requires a very active interface with Internal Audit and active participation in Regulatory and Statutory reviews conducted across the network.

One of key responsibilities for the role will also to support BOH to drive enhancements and automation within the branch network, in line with the country and regional priorities.

The role will have the following key responsibilities and activities:

  • Participate in the design and effective implementation of all branch processes
  • Support to drive process efficiency and improvements; focus on digitization and optimization of resources through Smart Banking initiatives
  • Support to drive teller/service staff efficiency; adapt and deploy new technologies to improve branch efficiency
  • Support and work closely with the Regional Branch Operations team in driving country/regional initiatives
  • Ensure all Branch Control Risk Indicators display positive trends for all regions; ensure corrective actions are taken where necessary
  • Support and to drive branch operational control readiness at all time; deliver branch audit pass ratings as per scorecards
  • Support BOH to work closely with Country CBORC team and other stakeholders to review, implement and refine control policies and procedures as defined in RCCPM
  • Ensure appropriate escalation and socialization of issues

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple projects and deliverables
  • Fluent English (spoken and written) required
