GIU Senior Compliance Analyst / QA Analyst - AML, AVP

Location: APAC-HKG-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

The GIU QA Analyst performs a critical function in the execution of Management ‘s Control Assessment (MCA). In addition, this function will supply an understanding of country data privacy requirements and systems necessary to conduct Regional Enterprise-Wide Customer Relationship Reviews involving “high risk” customers that either have accounts in multiple countries and/or in the same country but across multiple business sectors. The QA Analyst will assess continuous monitoring and testing results to identify gaps in control execution, emerging risks and/or weaknesses in process and control design.

Representative Responsibilities

  • Guarantying completeness and consistency in the investigations
  • Executing MCA procedures as prescribed; determining root cause of issues and assist in the development of corrective action plans
  • Managing and maintaining functional related system training and access for the GIU and associated systems needed for investigations
  • Ensuring proper testing and adequate controls are implemented around systems access and in compliance with country data privacy requirements


  • Graduate Degree from a recognized university (Accountancy, Banking or Business)
  • Relevant professional qualification related to audit/quality control in financial services
  • Post Graduate Degree is a plus
  • Experience in performing quality control testing and quality review of processes and output related to AML investigations or transactions reviews
  • Five (5) plus years’ experience in reviewing customer transactions and information for potentially suspicious activity and performing AML related investigations
  • Five (5) plus years’ experience in reviewing and approving Know Your Customer (KYC) files for complex banking products, performing analysis of customer information/transactions, and preparing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)/Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs)
  • Knowledge of the laws applicable to money laundering in Asia Pacific countries/territories, in addition to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), The USA Patriot Act, OFAC, FinCEN requirements, and Suspicious Activity Report (SAR)/Suspicious Transaction Reports (STR) requirements
  • Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Able to multitask and complete projects on time
  • Proficiency in a foreign language may be a plus
  • AML / Compliance/ law enforcement backgrounds and/or internal candidates who can demonstrate a firm understanding of Citi AML policies, standards and procedures is a plus
