Job Description

GF – HK Compliance Officer – Product (SVP)

Location: APAC-HKG-Hong Kong-Hong Kong


  • Develop compliance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, with focus on Cards, Loans and Mortgages
  • Formulate compliance training program in raising staff members’ awareness on local regulatory requirements and develop a compliant culture within the bank
  • Lead and provide guidance and to team members on the provision of compliance and regulatory advice and services primarily to the Consumer, from High Net-worth to Emerging Affluent
  • Liaise closely with Business Heads and Control Manager in establishing priorities and carrying out tasks
  • Review escalations and handle regulatory enquiries
  • Maintain strong relationships with key regulators, HKMA and personal data privacy regulator
  • Oversee regulatory compliance, examination coordination and ensure handling of relations with the local regulatory agencies, and appropriately coordinated and escalated, and undertaken with a sensitivity to franchise issues
  • Identify areas which continue to draw regulatory focus and concern, and work with business to develop action plan to assess the issues.



  • Bachelor degree or above or relevant industry qualifications in accounting, finance, commerce or legal
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in banking, with extensive experience in regulatory compliance and control; experience in other compliance areas like data privacy and fintech is an advantage
  • In-depth knowledge of local banking, cards, loans, mortgages and other consumer banking products and services
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry guidelines and application of law
  • Good knowledge of digital banking and Open Application Programming Interface (API) is an added advantage
  • Management experience with regulatory and compliance risk including interacting with senior management
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Proactive and excellent interpersonal skills, and able to work autonomously as an effective member of a dynamic team
