Finance HK FP and A Lead Analyst Vice President

Location: APAC-HKG-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

Job Purpose:

ASIA FP&A provide:

  • Analysis and review of financial performance, especially drivers, trends, and the competitive environment, to enhance understanding thereof on the part of management, the Board, regulators and shareholders
  • Insightful analysis as the foundation for strategic decision-making, resource allocation and performance management
  • Tools, analytical capability and data to support thoughtful planning and target setting, as well as to drive business initiatives
  • The means by which the businesses both implement and measure the impact of those decisions and targets, and identify and implement course corrections

Job Background/Context:

  • ASIA FP&A covers all aspects of the Citi Franchise including: Products, Geographies, Clients, Functions and O&T.  It is part of the ASIA Finance team
  • This role is part of the broader ASIA FP&A team responsible for all FP&A activities that are common across businesses, functions and O&T
  • This is an exciting and challenging new role working with the Capital Management Head in the development and implementation of an effective balance sheet and legal entity capital monitoring framework as well as devising and monitoring of initiatives aimed at more efficient use of capital across the Asia legal entities e.g. Legal Entity restructuring, capital optimization initiatives
  • The role is based in Hong Kong and will work in close partnership with other areas in FP&A, Treasury, Controllers, and Tax (across both across onshore and offshore teams)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the LE Capital Management processes involving
  • transition from the current structure to the new structure with centralization of common Legal Entity capital management activities
  • Developing and implementing an effective support model for the role
  • Capital Management, Reporting and Optimization – Analysing, investigating, escalating and explaining key movements and trends to the Capital Management Head and other Finance partners
  • Assist the Capital Management Head in analysing legal entity regulatory capital requirements, by closely working with the Market Risk, Credit Risk, Tax, Controllers and Corporate Treasury teams
  • Managing the capital reporting framework across LEs and businesses, and driving enhancements as required. Produce and distribute consistent analytics across Finance teams
  • Participate in the Capital Optimization initiatives in partnership across Finance and the Business (country, region, global) to understand and improve efficiency and returns through various initiatives e.g. Legal entity restructuring, tax optimization initiatives, capital restructuring
  • Forward Looking – Partner with other finance teams (including FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Controllers) though the Integrated Capital Planning Processes for Asia (including Outlook)
  • Coordinate deliverables to global and in region partners for Plan, MYF, and Outlook related to Capital initiatives and Legal Entity forecasts
  • Assist the Capital Management Head in relation to strategic exercises for Asia Franchise, working closely with Business, including ad-hoc analysis and reporting related to Legal Entity restructuring, capital optimization initiatives

Business Support:

  • Supporting the Capital Management Head, Finance and Business Senior Management – Co-ordination and preparation of presentation material and talking points for internal or external meetings
  • Engagement: Proactively engage and interface across Business, Finance and other relevant functional areas to leverage information and processes to meet requirements whilst avoiding unnecessary duplication
