Role Outline/Job Summary:

As an Insurance Specialist you are the owner of the P&L of the Insurance Product line for the branch and the owner of the Insurance portfolio of the branch as well. As a specialist the incumbent is responsible to manage the portfolio keeping in mind the financial deliverables and the regulatory, compliance and training requirements.

Role and Responsibilities:

Business/Department Objectives:

  • Deliver the plan for insurance (life and general insurance business) by advising on a portfolio of clients managed by CG/CPC and PB RMs
  • Portfolio Analysis of existing insurance and investment holdings
  • Need analysis and customer risk profile
  • Disseminate information on insurance industry, financial markets and competition products
  • Drawing up the training roadmap for the individual RM and ensuring successful completion of the insurance training certification on regulatory
  • Be the compliance gatekeeper in the region/branch for adherence to regulatory guidelines including and not limited to IRDA and RBI guidelines
  • Be extremely vigilant for potential sales complaints, free look cancellations, surrender ratios, lapse rates and sales complaints
  • Highlight potential financial, regulatory and credit risk to the franchise for insurance sales

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and recommend strategies that meet the objectives of the customer
  • Accompany Relationship Manager/Personal Banker to customer meetings to advise suitable Insurance instruments
  • Ensure all compliance and controls are adhered to relating to their specialist area
  • Increase RM participation and Insurance Penetration

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Help the Relationship Managers/Personal Bankers evaluate customer needs and recommend solutions for customers
  • Accompany Relationship Managers/Personal Bankers to meetings with customers or sales calls to provide specialist knowledge and advice

Key Deliverables:

  • Ensure sales team is also fully aware on Insurance business strategies and goals
  • Improve RMs’ skills/knowledge on Insurance via intra-group training, ‘one-on-one’ coaching, and JFO sessions
  • Promote active learning among RMs through success sharing, insurance talk, morning commentary, etc.
  • Insurance Specialist has full empowerment to work with Insurance partner in delivering regular product/selling knowledge to Sales team as per required
  • Understand product/market competitiveness and communicate to RMs

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: MBA
  • Experience: 10 years
  • Certifications: IRDA

  • Good communication, social, negotiation, leadership skills and an in-depth understanding of the Insurance Business
