Job Description

Citi Markets Hong Kong Head of Direct Custody and Clearing Director Hong Kong

Location: APAC-HKG-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

Responsible for the end-to-end performance of the Hong Kong DCC business – across product management, sales, strategy, client management, financials, operations, risk/ controls, compliance and talent. Also work in close partnership with China PFSS team and HK MSS team on broader China-HK access strategy.  Potential to expand remit to China oversight depending on the candidate / PFSS organization strategy. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure smooth China Access through Hong Kong
  • Devise and drive the growth strategy for DCC business
  • Drive the business development strategy and efforts around client acquisition, pipeline generation etc.
  • Lead MSS cross sell efforts
  • Ensure best in class client service standards and client satisfaction
  • Drive the people strategy – talent acquisition, development, diversity, mobility
  • Maintain/ build competitive standing
  • Devise and drive local product development/ differentiation efforts
  • Establish and oversee a strong governance and control agenda
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies
  • Work with regulators and industry participants to drive industry change efforts
  • Represent the business in senior internal and external forums
  • Be fully coordinated with key stakeholders and functional partners, both in-country and regional, to drive DCC priorities
  • Review key business performance parameters
  • Active client calling and relationship building – both existing and prospects
  • Address any key client issues
  • Prioritize closure of any control or regulatory issues
  • Engage with regulators on any specific matters
  • Engage with internal stakeholders on key priorities
  • Provide business representation in key forums - Business reviews, governance committees etc
  • Provide senior oversight and guidance on business matters as needed
  • Set ambitious growth targets for the business and execute against the same
  • Achieve financial plan targets; Manage overall profitability and P&L performance
  • Execute strict expense discipline

Qualifications

  • 12-20 years industry experience
  • Proven success record in the DCC space
  • Successful understanding and leadership of a diverse business
  • Ability to anticipate and lead  the organizational response to future changes
  • Ability to translate vision into executable plans
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Credibility and gravitas to lead, motivate and influence a diverse population across geographies, products and matrix reporting lines
  • Superior problem solving skills; pragmatic approach to ensure limited resources are directed appropriately
  • Ability for senior client engagement and management
  • Leadership skills to drive Citi’s strategy
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with senior internal stakeholders
  • Ability to successfully navigate the organization to meet DCC priorities – including complex structure of stakeholders, functional partners, multi-geography and functions etc
