APAC Head of Electronic Execution and Algorithmic Trading FCC Futures Clearing and Collateral

Location: APAC-HKG-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

Reporting to the Global Head of Electronic Execution & Algorithmic Trading Product for the FCC business, the individual will be responsible for assisting in the definition and implementation of the bank’s listed derivatives electronic and algorithmic execution strategy. The candidate will be required to work closely with the global business and technology heads as well as regional peers around the firm to deliver a robust, scalable and supportable platform to meet both internal and external client’s requirements. The scope of the mandate is broad in reach and covers all aspects of the electronic execution and algorithmic stack across the listed derivatives asset class.

Core Responsibilities

Definition and programme management of the regional listed derivatives product strategy, including the following streams:

Direct Electronic Execution:

    • Client connectivity (including co-location/low latency)
    • Exchange connectivity (developed and emerging APAC markets)
    • Order Management Systems
    • GUI strategy (proprietary and vendor based)

Algorithmic/Automated trading:

    • Assisting in the development of the algorithmic execution strategy (proprietary and vendor partners)
    • Analytics (Transaction Cost Analysis, benchmarks, pre-trade analytics)
    • Client coverage as it relates to algorithmic consulting
  • Regulatory Compliance including Supervision and Surveillance
  • Risk management and controls (DEA and Algorithmic best practices)
  • Reporting, MIS and post-trade feeds
  • Assisting sales and marketing teams by highlighting key product selling points as well as direct involvement in sales pitches where required
  • Design and implementation of governance, support and escalation models
  • Vendor and exchange relationship management
  • Obtaining all relevant business, technology, compliance, legal and risk sign-offs for business integration of new initiatives/products/exchanges.
  • Responsible for oversight of ‘business as usual’ activities such as billing, reconciliations, re-certifications and internal/external audits.



  • Excellent exchange listed derivatives, Electronic / Algorithmic industry knowledge essential
  • Strong front-to-back understanding of exchange listed derivative flows
  • Broad and reputable network of key industry contacts across the spectrum of vendors, exchanges, market data vendors as well as buy-side and sell-side firms
  • Solid understanding of regulatory agenda and associated electronic execution impacts/opportunities
  • Knowledge of Cash Equities, FX and Analytics products is a clear advantage
  • Technology experience/background and ability to lead design discussions would be a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of commercial/vendor/exchange contracts/fees
  • Ability to interact with both business and technology functions
