Customer Proposition Manager

Location: Hong Kong-Hong Kong Island-Causeway Bay

Our Role
As a key member of the Cigna International Markets team you will apply your knowledge and experience to help drive business growth across a wide range of local Market teams and accelerate the development of customer focused propositions and innovative products across Cigna International Markets.
This is a new role reporting to Head of Customer Value Proposition. The Customer Proposition Manager will work closely with the Head of CVP to support both Group and Individual businesses to:
  • Develop and articulate customer value propositions that include customer experience, products, value-added services and other tangible benefits that customers can refer to as reasons for choosing Cigna.
  • Develop strategy for organic growth in the broader health and wellness space leveraging innovative and market-relevant propositions including digital healthcare.

Cigna IM is a global business with operations in Korea, China, US, Turkey, UK, Taiwan, Hong Kong, New Zealand, India, Thailand, and Indonesia. Globally mobile individuals are serviced by our Global Individual Private Medical Insurance (GIPMI) business based in Glasgow, Scotland. Cigna IM works with affinity and Joint Venture partners, primarily using outbound telemarketing, and we also have a growing Direct to Consumer channel. Face to face distribution takes place through brokers, banks and retail outlets.
  • As a key member of this small team based in the Cigna International Markets Global Office in Hong Kong, the Propositions Manager will work with a wide range of local Market teams to develop, and roll-out compelling product propositions.
  • Support the overall management of the product development and approval process across all markets; the Head of CVP chairs the bi-weekly Global Product Review Committee (GPRC), the Proposition Manager will help to monitor, review and manage the governance of the range of new and existing products across the Cigna IM portfolio.
  • Work with local Markets to actively manage the existing propositions across product life cycles to ensure they continue to meet the needs of our distribution channels and customers.
  • Understand market trends, competitors, and innovations such as digital healthcare to provide intelligence for product positioning and product design for Cigna IM.
  • Support local Markets to identify and get their new product propositions approved by the Cigna IM Office within the required timelines. Specifically we want to increase the support provided to local Markets at the initial Idea Generation phase based on customer insights and research, through to the development of the initial Product Brief, and the approval of the Business Case and related go-to-market launch activity.
  • Actively share best practice across Markets and business lines, including developing a useful and accessible product library.
  • Support regular and ad hoc projects and research studies. For example questionnaire design, to analysis including desk research, competitor benchmarking, customer research etc.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Centre of Excellence for Product and Innovation, as well as the other segments within Cigna to identify successful products and services (e.g. wellness) from the US Domestic and Global Health Benefits businesses that could be leveraged in Cigna IM


Our Ideal Candidate Will Offer:
  • Extensive product development and marketing experience.
  • Cigna IM provides Life, Health and Accident insurance with particular emphasis on products and propositions for direct, affinity partner, and bancassurance channels across a range of markets therefore candidates with experience of international insurance markets are preferred.
  • Candidates with a strong background in FMCG product development and innovation will also be welcomed.
  • Degree qualified in Business, Economics, Marketing or related disciplines, additional recognized insurance qualifications are a strong plus.
  • Strong knowledge of international markets, especially Asia Pacific region.
  • Clear minded, well organized in planning and execution, attentive to details and self-motivated with strong project management skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with diverse individuals and teams within a matrix reporting environment, ideally with demonstrated success of working in a global / regional function.
