Job Description

Head of Business Analysis & Planning

Location: Hong Kong

Purpose Of Role:
The role holder contributes to and will often lead on business planning, resource forecasting, risk management, business improvement and making key inputs to his/her areas of accountability across the region. He/she will identify opportunities and risks, and be responsible for generating solutions and recommending courses of actions across LoB’s and the business as a whole. The role holder also contributes to the wider BT, to develop cross BT solutions.  He/she is an experienced authority within the Business Analysis and Strategic Planning environment who is able to influence through management information at CEO level, and delivers changes quickly.  Communicating the overall plan and progress against that plan to CEO and group level is a critical element of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

Business planning
  • To take end to end ownership of business planning and monitoring within AMEA.
  • Work with finance, cost transformation, operations, sales and HR colleagues to ensure alignment and execution of forecasts, plans and activity.
  • Produce executive level material to support operational and budget reviews – linking AMEA strategy, business performance and planned initiatives to demonstrate progress
  • Directly support the AMEA COO on key projects
  • Line management of a team of c. 6 direct and wider team of indirect reports
  • Ensure the regular governance reviews are held on the major regional contracts in line with SOX requirements
  • Manage the pay plan for contract management resources in AMEA
  • Create and maintain the regional risk register for consolidation into LoB wide risk register
  • Ensure the sub-regional/cluster level risk registers are completed to BT standards and requirements.  Review and escalate issues to regional attention as required
  • Collate and review business continuity plans for each country and act as SILVER level contact in cases of incidents impacting regional
  • Monitor audit findings across the region
  • Run and monitor IT governance forum on a regular basis to ensure all sites in AMEA comply with BT standards
    Business improvement
  • Execute on key cost transformation activities to deliver cost savings, process improvements and customer experience improvements
  • Identify and lead on business process improvement activities across AMEA and linking with LoB and Group wide activity as appropriate
    Resource demand
  • Work with shared service support functions to build an accurate view of resource demand forecast, for specific skills, for delivery of major contract deliverables. 
  • Work with sales and finance to ensure demand forecast aligns with revenue and affordability levels. 
  • Track spending against agreed budget levels and agree changes to forecasts with relevant internal suppliers as required.
  • Identify and track critical resource gaps and proactively manage issues through appropriate use of management reporting to escalate and resolve issues.

  • Contributes and directly, through day to day action, shapes the strategic decisions within the LoB structure.
  • Extensive knowledge of the business as a whole.
  • Will have responsibility for delivery of region wide initiatives.




  •   MBA, Degree or equivalent experience.



  • High commercial and influencing skills, and will adept at extracting key ‘signals’, and translating these into balanced and - above all - actionable intelligence for top management.
  • Consulting experience with excellent PowerPoint and “story telling” skills
