Before you leave, check again –

Preparations for your trip:


3-4 months before the trip:

  • Check passport expiry date

1 month before the trip:

  • Start going shopping for the above items – medicine, contact lens, adapters, travel sized cream
  • Arrange for care of pets, lawn, and plants
  • Pre-pay your bills
  • Prearrange school absences for children 

1 week before the trip: 

  • Set up an email autoresponder (unless you plan to be connected)
  • Leave house key and trip itinerary with a trusted friend
  • Leave flight and hotel itineraries with a relative
  • Put your readings and documents on Google Drive

1 day before the trip:

  • Download the songs and movies you meant to watch during your vacation
  • Print out visa and hotel booking confirmation
  • Write down address of hotel

12 hours before you leave:

Start charging your

**All liquids should be placed in containers no larger than 100ml and placed in a clear re-sealable plastic bag with maximum capacity of 1 litre. (Hong Kong Airport)
