Specialist, Regional Treasury, Finance and Controlling Asia Pacific

Location: HK-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

Located in Hong Kong, BASF’s regional headquarters oversees more than 16,000 employees at about 100 sites across Asia Pacific. In addition to regional business units, Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, Management Consulting, Procurement and Supply Chain Services.

Objectives of the Position
  • As a Regional Treasury Specialist, you will be responsible for regional treasury Front Office operations by planning and executing cash management, hedging activities, liquidity management and currency market development for the assigned countries and legal entities in Asia Pacific. Also, you will work on assigned regional cash management projects.

  • Execute cash management and hedging activities and make relevant decisions for the assigned countries and companies including
    • Monitoring cash management and foreign currency exposure to ensure liquidity and foreign currency exposure risk control and smooth execution, settlement and deal entries in SAP system
    • Maintaining good overview on banking products, money market and currency markets and trading systems and providing recommendation about cash and currency risk management strategies
    • Assessing and selecting trading partners for competitive bidding for products chosen
    • Optimizing bank account structure to take advantage of the best banks or banking services
  • Prepare the regular cash flow forecast for the assigned companies and clarify the open issues with Headquarters to ensure the accuracy of Group Liquidity planning
  • Monitor money market and currency market development of assigned countries and contribute ideas to strategies development
  • Ensure full compliance with internal and external rules and regulations, corporate governance and process efficiency in the area of cash and currency risk management; provide support to both internal and external audit
  • Provide support to global and regional cash management projects
  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related disciplines; Master degree or MBA is highly preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in cash management and  or FX risk management; Relevant working experience in chemical or related industries is an advantage
  • Knowledge of financial market and treasury regulations of major Asia countries
  • Experience in developing and analyzing cash flow statement and liquidity forecast plans
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and SAP; Knowledge of using Bloomberg is a plus
  • Fluent writing, speaking and presentation skills in English and Mandarin.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
