Specialist, HR Projects

Location: HK-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

Located in Hong Kong, BASF’s Asia Pacific headquarters oversees more than 18,000 employees at about 100 production sites and 125 sales offices across the region. In addition to a number of regional business units, the Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, Management Consulting, Procurement and Supply Chain Services.
Objectives of the Position
  • Reporting to the Senior Manager, HR Merger & Acquisition (M&A), Divestiture and Projects Asia Pacific, the incumbent will work in a dynamic environment and collaborate with multiple levels of HR teams and cross-functional teams to contribute to global and regional HR projects taken place in the Asia Pacific region
  • The incumbent will gain wide knowledge of different country labor legislations & HR practices, technical matters in M&A deals plus good experience in project management
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide support in HR M&A or divestiture projects including but not limited to coordination with country work teams for data preparation and collection, facilitation of information exchange, research for country employment-related legislations and related information, consultation with stakeholders, report of project status etc
  • Participate in various activities along the HR M&A or divestiture projects in different phases including project kick-off, due diligence, employee communications, transition coordination, integration planning and execution etc. and follow through accordingly to enable project progress
  • Take part in other regional or global HR projects as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree holder in business or HRM or related discipline
  • 5 years of experience in hire-to-retire HR operations, C&B or HR policies  in a multinational organization. M&A experience is not necessarily required
  • Proven experience in ownership of multiple tasks, working with diverse groups of stakeholders and meeting project deadlines with quality deliverables in an organized manner
  • Demonstrate high learning agility, can-do attitude and strong mindset for continuous improvement
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and sensitivity to quantitative data
  • Good knowledge in MS office applications
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English a must
  • Ability to speak or read Chinese Mandarin, Korean or Japanese is highly preferred
