Senior Specialist, Supply Chain Planning, Care Chemicals Asia Pacific

Location: HK-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

Located in Hong Kong, BASF’s Asia Pacific headquarters oversees more than 18,000 employees at about 100 production sites and 125 sales offices across the region. In addition to a number of regional business units, the Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, Management Consulting, Procurement and Supply Chain Services.
Objectives of the Position
  • Reporting to Manager, Regional Supply Chain Planning, Care Chemicals Asia Pacific, the incumbent will
    • Responsible for regional planning and management of demand forecast, supply planning
    • Identify forecast strategies and material management improvement opportunities through analysis
    • Drive Sales & Operation Planning (S&OP) process performance as per the defined service levels and targets
    • Support the responsible strategic business unit supply chain process, business and process models, KPI steering, performance and target setup, execution, monitor and continuous improvement
    • Manage any risk in supply and demand and derive measure to mitigate, provide alert and escalate for support
Job Responsibilities
  • Manage demand with validation for including merchandise replenishment and own manufactured product production planning, and planning of inventories of all finished goods, own manufactured product, merchandise and raw material
  • Review regional supply plan and fine tune the replenishment plan, review stock point and safety stock level, propose stock keeping to optimize service level and business growth
  • Review the rough-cut production plan, optimizing capacity available for full utilization, propose production plan product mix to optimize under and over asset utilization
  • Responsible for shortage management including communication, allocation and drive for fulfilment of allocation from supplying site to minimize business loss and pending backlog
  • Manage inventory for assigned material responsibility area on a regional area focus
  • Define inventory target to guarantee service level and manage distribution planning process for including working capital and business strategy
  • Manage and optimize business unit inventory profile and make recommended adjustments to forecast and target
  • Manage replenishment order of material for regional distribution centre as well as procurement
  • Maximize delivery in Full On Time performance in line with Business strategy
  • Support material availability check for sales pipeline and communications
  • Identify, evaluate and optimize supply chain initiative
  • Liaise with Global Planner, Regional Product Manager to integrate the master schedule into the distribution plan in line with supply chain strategies and policies, and Local Planner on order allocation internally; as well as Business Unit regarding impact related to supply chain strategies and policies
  • As regional contact point for suppliers and any third party and ensure consistent processes to all parties with evaluation
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics and project management
  • Able to collaborate and network within matrix and intercultural teams
  • Knowledge of material flow
  • Strong at SAP
  • Analytical with strong problem solving, communication and negotiation skills
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin
