Manager, Supply Chain Management, Monomers Asia Pacific

Location: HK-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

Located in Hong Kong, BASF’s regional headquarters oversees more than 16,000 employees at about 100 sites across Asia Pacific. In addition to regional business units, Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, Management Consulting, Procurement and Supply Chain Services.
 
Objectives of the Position
 
  • Reporting to the Senior Manager, Supply Chain Management, Monomers Asia Pacific, the incumbent will be the Regional Caretaker and owner of the regional S&OP process of the assigned products to ensure supply chain operations meet business objectives.

 

Job Responsibilities
 
  • As the owner of regional S&OP process for the responsible products, draw alignment between sales plans, production plan and inventory plan for effective supply chain management. Ensure all S&OP members follow the regional planning process and schedule
  • Be accountable for the responsible products Supply Chain performance metrics. Identify deviations from plans and target to allow timely corrective actions and help to mitigate potential business impacts
  • Regionally manage and maintain monthly demand / supply planning process, the related planning system and the performance of assigned product value chain scope
  • Conduct production rough cut planning for the region based on internal and external demand forecast, capacity availability and raw materials conditions
  • Plan and coordinate inter-region, inter-segment and inter-company products and material movements and resolve planning and operational issues
  • Clarify and setup supply chain processes across the Regional Business Unit (RBU) and departments. Reconcile misalignments and misunderstandings to achieve consensus while balancing RBU’s interest
  • Support business decisions in S&OP process with management report and mathematical optimization (value-based S&OP)
  • Act as Regional Caretaker to facilitate supply chain operations between different regions, corporate supply chain department, corporate procurement department and local sales in Asia Pacific
  • Review and analyze Supply Chain performance metrics (including DIV, plant utilization, logistics costs, DC/DR, NCM, etc.). Identify root and drive actions with local supply chain effort to improve performance
  • Consolidate and analyze inventory positions of products and materials of the supply companies in the region for any unusual findings in order to support decision making on inventory management.
  • Take lead or support in the coordination of RBU’s supply chain project including implementation and monitoring of the result

 

Requirements
 
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or Logistics Management
  • At least 8 years working experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, logistics cost optimization and inventory control
  • Strong competence in communicating and collaborating with different stakeholders in a matrix organization
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills
  • Team player who demonstrates flexibility and willingness to learn
