Manager, Supply Chain Acquisitions & Divestments, Regional Supply Chain Services Asia Pacific

Location: HK-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

Located in Hong Kong, BASF’s Asia Pacific headquarters oversees more than 18,000 employees at about 100 production sites and 125 sales offices across the region. In addition to a number of regional business units, the Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, Management Consulting, Procurement and Supply Chain Services.
Objectives of the Position
  • Functionally reporting to Director Supply Chain Mergers and Acquisitions, the incumbent will be part of the team to direct and support BASF Merger, Acquisition, Divestiture project activities and Commission S investment decision from functional Supply Chain perspective, by collaborating globally with business units’ Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Shared Service Organizations and Site Logistics Operations to ensure continued customer service
Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare Commission F Supply Chain Expertise:
    • Represent end-to-end supply chain processes in the Commission F process before signing in M&A&D projects in alignment with BU strategy
    • Contribute to Expertise I & II documentation as part of the Commission F process
    • Represent supply chain functional expertise in due diligences
    • Contribute to the design and development of operational models, including transitional services
  • Support Investment Concept Design for Commission S
    •  Assess the functional supply chain components of business models and supports the conceptual design of distribution, custom and foreign trade models in Commission S investment process
  • Evaluate Commission S Supply Chain Concepts
    • Represent the supply chain function and provide functional knowledge and expertise to Initial and Final Approval of the Commission S process
  • Steer Post-Signing Supply Chain Activities
    • Provide expertise and experience towards the supply chain integration / divestiture plan and lead the supply chain work package for Internal Business Partners if required
    • Key areas include organizational design, master data, cutover plans, transfer of assets & contracts, process model development and communication with cross-functional stakeholders
Requirements
  • Bachelor in Industrial / Business Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Business Administration
  • At least 10 years of relevant Supply Chain experience with at least 4 years with BASF Supply Chain
  • Have a strong breadth and depth of understanding of the end-to-end Supply Chain processes within BASF, including country and regional specific knowledge
  • Demonstrate strong organization awareness of the Operating Divisions and Functions within BASF
  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision, taking decisions, escalating concerns and taking personal accountability for all actions
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be able to extract and analyse large volumes of data and convert this into meaningful information
  • Have a clear business mindset, customer focus and hands-on mentality
  • Fluent in English
