Manager, Price and Margin Management Asia Pacific

Location: HK-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

Located in Hong Kong, BASF’s Asia Pacific headquarters oversees more than 18,000 employees at about 100 production sites and 125 sales offices across the region. In addition to a number of regional business units, the Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, Management Consulting, Procurement and Supply Chain Services.
Objectives of the Position
  • Reporting to the Senior Manager, Customer Interaction Portal (CIP) Asia Pacific, the incumbent will support regional business units (RBUs) in achieving business excellence in the areas related to price and margin management (PMM) by leading and managing all PMM projects evolving from the Customer Interaction Portal (CIP) initiative, as part of the Regional Management Consulting team.
Job Responsibilities
  • Act as the price and margin management (PMM) key account manager for selected RBUs to ensure consistency between processes and strategic approaches, and guide businesses to select appropriate processes which support their business models
  • Define pricing requirements for marketing and sales processes, and translate them into a language understood by related stakeholders including the Information Technology department
  • Translate system requirements into business scenarios and ensure common understanding by different teams within the businesses
  • Drive and lead the implementation of CIP core offerings including PMM with RBUs and countries across Asia Pacific
  • Together with the Global Process Module team, create the relevant content and materials for the Asia Pacific region
  • Communicate and market the CIP offering in collaboration with the respective stakeholders
  • Work closely with RBUs and country organizations to resolve business issues related to CIP and implement solutions for process improvement
  • Serve as a PMM change agent, coach, educator or facilitator for the respective RBUs
  • Be an active team member and contribute proactively to other ad-hoc initiatives in the Process Module team or the Management Consulting unit
  • Holder of bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics or business-related disciplines
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience in multinational companies with a combination of industry knowledge, IT and change management experience and consulting skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of marketing and sales concepts and systems, especially in PMM
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in virtual teams and in a complex organization
  • Strong learning agility with disposition to share knowledge and learn from stakeholders in different levels
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and gain commitment at various organizational levels
  • Willingness to travel at roughly 30% of time
