Manager, IT Support & Business Partner Services (Hong Kong)

Location: HK-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

Located in Hong Kong, BASF’s regional headquarters oversees more than 16,000 employees at about 100 sites across Asia Pacific. In addition to regional business units, Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, Management Consulting, Procurement and Supply Chain Services.
Objectives of the Position
  • Reporting to the Area Team Lead of Regional Business Partner Services (Greater China), the incumbent will be responsible for the operational management of Information Services (IS) infrastructure services for BASF in Hong Kong by collaborating with other IS infrastructure departments and external providers to deliver mission critical services
Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise local on-site activities of internal teams and external providers in Hong Kong for daily infrastructure services related to workplace support, network support and server support
  • Manage and organise resolution for all services, incidents and problem escalations arising in the location. Trigger appropriate actions and work closely with the respective teams to bring about timely communication, restoration and closure
  • Oversee all local specific solutions, services and specialties installed locally, including:
    • handling all requests for local solutions, senior executive support, etc.
    • managing local IS-related administration such as approval process, purchase requisitions, website administration etc.
    • developing IS-related information or knowledge sharing e.g. FAQs, local-friendly manuals, roadshows etc. to promote user computing productivity
  • Direct, guide and coordinate local resources to support implementation of change requests and projects
  • Drive and perform data updates for all locally installed IS assets in the location timely and report usage statistics accurately
  • Support in the identification and development of infrastructure services and solutions to continuously enhance user support and services
  • Operate “IS Security on the ground” topics locally including overseeing physical security access controls of IS assets, handling security alerts and reporting, support local security audits and inform related teams where demands for local specific security measures and services
  • Support the planning and implementaion of Business Continuity Plans of critical local IS Infrastructure components in the location
  • Responsible for the annual Hardware Investment planning for existing hardware
  • Bachelor Degree in Management Information System, Computer Science, Business Administration or related discipline
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in delivering information services in sizable multinational and multicultural environment, with at least 2 years in leadership position or project-leading position
  • Knowledgeable and hands-on in general IS infrastructure services such as help desk, desktop support, network and IPT services, server services, network problem shooting, Cisco IPT etc.
  • Holder of professional qualification such as MCSE, CCIP, CCNA is an advantage
  • Superior customer services and communication skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Able to quickly identify problems and improvement needs, develop alternative solutions, and implement corrective actions efficiently and effectively
  • Able to work independently with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to follow through all requests and tasks with minimum supervision or guidance
  • Good English speaking and writing skill
