Manager, HR M&A/Divestiture and Projects, Human Resources Asia Pacific

Location: HK-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

Located in Hong Kong, BASF’s regional headquarters oversees more than 16,000 employees at about 100 sites across Asia Pacific. In addition to regional business units, Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, Management Consulting, Procurement and Supply Chain Services.

Objectives of the Position
  • Reporting to Senior Manager, M&A/Divestiture and Projects, the incumbent will work in a dynamic environment and collaborate with different units and multiple levels of HR teams to:-
    • continuously drive the global total reward initiative from implementation to framework leverage into HR activities across Asia Pacific
    • handle M&A / divestiture projects within the region
Job Responsibilities
  • Projects
  • Lead the implementation of the global total reward project, Compelling Total Offer (CTO) in selected countries according to the defined framework and guideline
  • Provide CTO training and information session to country HR project teams
  • Support country project teams to prepare and conduct local total offer analysis, set up implementation plan and develop communication content for defined target groups, monitor the go-live during implementation and drive further development in the long run
  • Integrate CTO output to other HR activities such as employer branding, recruitment, orientation, etc. at regional level and provide support to country deployment
  • Responsible for other regional or global HR projects as assigned
  • HR M&A/Divestiture
  • Depend on the project scope, lead or participate HR M&A/ divestiture / transition & integration activities (including kick off, due diligence, transition coordination, etc.) for the region
  • Provide range of supports for HR M&A / divestiture including but not limited to research for information, consultation with stakeholders, maintain / enhance knowledge database and tools, etc.


  • Holder of bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or relevant discipline
  • 8 years or more hands-on HR experience in a sizable matrix organization with diverse culture
  • Strong HR generalist knowledge with experience in project management and execution.  Experience in M&A/integration is preferred
  • Knowledge in labour legislation, HR policies and Compensation and Benefits
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build working relationships and trust at various levels in the organizations
  • Excellent verbal and written English with an additional Asia language (Japanese / Korean / Mandarin) is advantageous
  • High proficiency in Microsoft office applications
