Manager, Global Supply Chain and Inventory Management, Dispersions & Pigments Global

Location: HK-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

Located in Hong Kong, BASF’s regional headquarters oversees more than 16,000 employees at about 100 sites across Asia Pacific. In addition to regional business units, Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, Management Consulting, Procurement and Supply Chain Services.

Objectives of the Position
  • Reporting to the Vice Director of Global Supply Chain Management, the incumbent will act as the supply chain planning and inventory management specialist for the implementation of processes and systems with the objective to determine and maintain optimal inventory and service levels in production and distribution sites.
Job Responsibilities
  • Act as the specialist for the rollout of supply chain planning and inventory management processes and systems in production and distribution sites
  • Perform comprehensive analysis of inventory levels and their influencing factors to calculate the inventory targets according to article and stock point
  • Conduct pre-implementation study and analysis to determine site specific inventory optimization scope
  • Engage stakeholders, communicate the inventory optimization objectives and targets and gather consensus from diverse functions including but not limit to production, product management, planning, IT
  • Develop and implement business rules on product portfolio segmentation, product life cycle, supply models, distribution networks and systems to fulfil the governance and functional leadership across countries / regions
  • Utilize visualization tools (Qlikview) to develop performance tracking reports
  • Review the overall effectiveness of demand and supply planning and initiate actions to drive continuous improvement as well as alignment of processes and interfaces across regions, business units and operating divisions
  • Collaborate with global planners and replenishment planners to ensure a high level of planning efficiency
  • Set up the inventory management system globally
  • Support the setup of a master data structure as well as sustainable processes for data management and data input
  • Perform inventory related master data quality check (SAP MRP and APO) and implement data quality improvement measures
Requirements
  • Holder of Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics or related disciplines; Master degree is a plus
  • 8 years or more working experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Production Controlling, Sales and Operations Planning or Demand and Supply Planning
  • Solid experience on reviewing business processes, demand and supply planning process, OTC process, monitoring and data analysis or inventory controlling
  • Knowledge in SAP, MRP, APO DP, SNP and PPDS, SAP SD and MM, Business Warehouse, Excel, SQL, Access or data base
  • Self-motivated with high reliability and integrity
  • Ability to collaborate and network within matrix and intercultural teams
  • Excellent change management, project management and presentation skills
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English
