Manager, Credit Risk Management, Regional Treasury Asia Pacific

Location: HK-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

Located in Hong Kong, BASF’s regional headquarters oversees more than 16,000 employees at about 100 sites across Asia Pacific. In addition to regional business units, Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, Management Consulting, Procurement and Supply Chain Services.


Objectives of the Position

  • This position will report to the Regional Head of Treasury Asia Pacific, with the objectives to safeguard customer risks and ensure financial health of the company through effective credit risk management (CRM) across Asia Pacific in compliance to company guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

  • According to global and regional CRM guidelines, perform periodic credit risk analysis and monitor risk development and KPIs for regional customers
  • Work closely with global team to identify and perform credit risk assessment for group customers
  • Be responsible for and ensure quality and timely completion of periodic CRM related reports in close collaboration with country CRM, business units, European and Asian shared services centres as well as global CRM. For example, regional CRM report, Asian part of global CRM KPI report, country focus CRM report or AR part of controlling report
  • Proactively organize risk reporting, monitor country CRM practices based on global and regional guidelines and initiate risk management measures in close collaboration with country CRM
  • Review CRM processes in the region and drive continuous process improvement to maximize efficiency and maintain proper risk control
  • Act as a regional key user of CRM systems and databases, manage user accounts,  provide system support and coordinate system enhancement projects in the region in close collaboration with global CRM team, shared service centres and country CRM
  • Ensure knowledge transfer in CRM systems by participating in global training sessions and organizing training for the regional CRM community
  • Ensure common understanding of global and regional CRM policies and guidelines with country CRM by organizing regular knowledge sharing calls and regional CRM workshop
  • Support the implementation of global and regional CRM projects by sharing region/ country specific CRM knowledge, coordinating survey and information exchange among country, regional and global CRM.


  • Holder of Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting and Finance or related discipline
  • 7 years or above experience in the area of credit risk management, preferably with financial institution or in chemical industry
  • CPA or CFA holder with additional working experience in AR or controlling is a plus
  • Knowledge in SAP and advance computer skills in MS Office application
  • High proficiency in English with strong communication and interpersonal skills
