Manager, Business Analysis, Global Strategy, Dispersions & Pigments Global

Location: HK-Hong Kong-Hong Kong

Located in Hong Kong, BASF’s regional headquarters oversees more than 16,000 employees at about 100 sites across Asia Pacific. In addition to regional business units, Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, Management Consulting, Procurement and Supply Chain Services.
Objectives of the Position
  • Reporting to the Head of Global Strategy, Dispersions & Pigments, the incumbent will focus on data management for the strategy group including business case development for the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) strategies development. Besides internal business review and monitoring, the incumbent also needs to contribute to external market and competitor benchmarking.
Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the data management for the whole strategy group and data preparation for strategy board paper
  • Support the strategy managers in business cases development and work in close collaboration with division controlling and regional controlling team to ensure the business cases are all aligned with all regions
  • Involve actively in the annual strategy review, e.g. preparation of SIMBA report for management review and regular business review for the management team and strategy sponsor
  • Monitor the development of business result by segments and regions, identify strategy gap together with strategic managers and deep-dive measures
  • Contribute data support for continuous market evaluation and competitor benchmarking and monitoring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting or related discipline
  • 5 years or more relevant experience in business controlling, internal or external audit, tax or financial analysis or compliance from an industrial environment. Experience in the chemical industry is highly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills; Ability to collaborate with diverse and cross-functional teams and influence without authority
  • Ability to manage conflict effectively while maintaining healthy work relationships with stakeholders
  • Solid and hands on knowledge of SAP and Business Warehouse; Proficiency in MS office application especially Excel and PowerPoint as well as thnk-cell.
  • High proficiency in English in both reading and writing
