Assistant Custody Operations Manager (Global Corporate Actions)

Location: Hong Kong


  • Manage the processing of various kinds of Corporate Actions in different markets for different investment instruments on daily basis
  • Compile updated information for clients regarding company announcements and follow up clients’ instructions on corporate actions
  • Be able to understand different types of corporate actions and their implications including related tax handling
  • Render pro-active proxy voting services to institutional clients
  • Handle income collection, dividend payment and bonus shares for clients
  • Handle entitlement allocation, warrants and rights instructions from clients
  • Process tax reclaims and handle tax-related enquiries and reporting
  • Communicate with paying agent/ registrar/ depository/ voting agent etc to seek clarification on corporate actions handling
  • Monitor related market development, regulatory changes and share information/ experience with team members
  • Attend and vote on behalf of clients at shareholder meetings
  • Arrange clients advice templates in bilingual formats for voluntary corporate events
  • Reconcile the stock and cash positions and follow up the discrepancies with depository / registrar / sub-custodian
  • Process fee billing and the related accounting records
  • Contribute to system and processing enhancements, participate in UAT tests and other ad-hoc projects


  • Tertiary education or above, with SFC Qualifications for handling regulated activities Types 1 & 4 preferable 
  • At least 2 years hands-on experience with corporate actions, including local and overseas stocks, bonds and funds markets
  • Strong technical knowledge on corporate actions and tax
  • A good team-player with interpersonal and coordinating skills
  • Able to work independently and effectively under pressure arisen from workload and time constraints
  • High level of risk awareness
  • Meticulous with details
  • Strong communication skills in English and Chinese, including Putonghua
  • Knowledge on SWIFT usage
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
