Job Description

Senior Manager - Change Programme, BTO

Location: HONG KONG

To apply programme and change management expertise to contribute to successful outcome / benefit realization across a range of business initiatives. This includes:

  • Acting as coach / mentor to project teams / managers on Change Management aspects of projects – and, where needed, directly drive change activities / workstreams
  • Manage a small team of change specialists who will be assigned to various projects to directly drive change management activities (1-2 resources)
  • Acting as a programme / project manager to directly manage and deliver complex large scale programmes /projects

Change Management
  • Directly apply or help project teams apply a structured methodology to lead and change management activities and workstreams this includes but is not limited to:
  • Design, development and delivery of communications
  • Stakeholder and impact assessments: identify and manage areas of resistance
  • Support training efforts
  • Define metrics and KPIs to measure and monitor the progress on change
  • Increase awareness, understanding and active application of change management by:
    • Coaching team members within the Business Transformation Office as well as key stakeholders across the organization such as sponsors, influencers (potential change champions)
    • Conducting regular training, lunch & learn and other awareness sessions
    • Join programme/project teams where needed or where requested by the Head of BTO to ensure change activities are adequately planned and executed
Programme Management
  • Perform the role of programme/project manager in highly complex programmes/projects.  These include (but not limiting to) projects that are large scale and have complexity either due to the technical aspect, number of stakeholders involved or high degree of change for involved parties.
  • Ensure programmes/projects outcomes and objectives are aligned to company strategy
  • Advise executives sponsors on programme definition, business case development, project planning and organizational matters
  • Develop execution plans and syndicate with senior stakeholders to get buy-in
  • Maintain oversight on delivery of major programmes, and ensure that issues are resolved and risks are mitigated in a timely manner
  • Lead project managers in the planning of multi-disciplinary programmes and interrelated projects
  • Organise and run steering committee meetings, project meetings and workshops, especially those involving executive level decisions
  • Conduct project health checks as requested by the Head of Programme Office and provide improvement recommendations
  • Make recommendations to the Head of BTO on measures to enhance project management capabilities in the BTO
  • Other tasks or duties as assigned by Senior Management.

Qualifications

Experience / Qualifications:

·         University graduate, preferably in Business, Finance, IT or related disciplines

·         10-15 years solid experience in a project / change management capacity

·         Proven track record in delivery of large, complex projects in large, complex organisations

·         Strong influence, change management, and dispute resolution skills.

·         Solid experience in managing stakeholders at senior executive level at multiple levels of organization (Group, Regional & Local)

·         Outstanding communication skills; verbal and written with proven experience in designing and delivering communications at multiple levels from working to C-level – ability to communicate in Cantonese not a must but will be a definite advantage

·         Excellent understanding of project management control procedures

·         Able to motivate and effectively manage a small team of change specialist resources

·         Broad knowledge of financial services &/or insurance industry desirable. LOMA qualification an added advantage

  • Less experience will be considered as Change Management Manager
