Senior Analyst, AXA Asia

Location: HONG KONG

The Purpose of the Role

  • Develop and maintain the Prophet models (liability and ALS) and data conversion system (DCS) for the region

  • Support the ad-hoc or special project across the regions

  • Prepare documentation and ensure control in place for the Prophet models

  • Supervise and provide guidance to team members, work closely with local entities to improve the understanding of Prophet Modeling

  • Act as a service provider to the region by providing timely support on Prophet PE infrastructure and application related issues

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist in developing and maintaining Prophet models (Liability and ALS) and data conversion system (DCS) for the region
  • Implement Prophet model modification as requested by end users in a timely manner with proper controls in place
  • Produce parallel Excel model for cash flow reconciliation or other checks to give confidence in reasonableness of Prophet results
  • Ensure work in line with best practice in Prophet development to ensure efficiency and consistency in variable naming, coding and model structure
  • Develop new functionalities within and around the Prophet model to enhance the usability of the model across various Actuarial functions
  • Supervise team members to meet deadlines while maintaining high quality standards as well as ensure proper documentation of procedures and methodology
  • Assist in planning and managing work flow for the team in line with priorities from local actuarial functions requests
  • Actively shares knowledge of Prophet modeling across the region
  • Work closely with the Life Actuarial team to ensure efficient and consistent Prophet Modeling
  • Support ad-hoc or special projects arise from the local entities

Qualifications

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years actuarial experience and preferably an Associate of a recognized actuarial institute
  • Knowledge and experience of actuarial modeling coding and processes
  • Good understanding of deterministic valuation and ALM principles/methods
  • Good English verbal and written communication skills required
  • Previous life insurance industry / consulting experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
