Regional Assistant Manager, Health & Protection Pricing & Proposition, Regional Health & Protection, AXA Asia

Location: HONG KONG

Purpose of the Role

  • Develop Health & Protection product propositions (individual & group, domestic and international) across life and general entities in eight Asian markets
  • Pro-actively support and review entities' H&P product strategy and pricing principles to optimize sustainable growth and profitability in the region
  • Conduct technical analysis to systematically review/refresh and manage H&P products & performance
  • Establish best practices and tools for H&P product development/pricing process and performance monitoring in the region and help build local entities' capabilities

Key Accountabilities:

Product Propositions
  • Perform market analysis to ensure current H&P propositions are inline and competitive with the market
  • Conduct new product feasibility study in the region enhancing customer value propositions across countries, entities and distribution channels
  • Build a regional H&P product repository to facilitate knowledge/ideas sharing across entities, including development of tools/processes such as Master Contract

Product Pricing & Performance

  • Review and govern pricing methodology, assumptions, benefits and policy wordings of new and refreshed H&P products, together with other Regional teams (Product, Claims Underwriting, Medical Networks), to align with overall product strategy and pricing principles
  • Identify and recommend solutions to overcome challenges and risks surfacing H&P performance.  Co-ordinate and work with other Regional teams (Product, Claims Underwriting, Medical Networks) to drive recommended solutions.
  • Set up and develop best practice guidelines and tools for H&P product development/pricing process and performance monitoring (including claims and expenses) in the region, giving guidance to and supporting local entities on implementation.
  • Review reinsurance arrangement to achieve optimized product proposition and profitability outcome
  • Support other Regional H&P initiatives/projects as required

Qualifications

 

Qualification & Experience

  • At least 4 years of actuarial/analytical experience in pricing and/or experience reporting team

  • Some exposure to health products is ideal; Has strong interest in understanding the dynamics of managing a health insurance portfolio

  • Good technical foundation, with excellent working knowledge of actuarial techniques, issues and application to product pricing and experience review.

  • Experience in VBA and SAS an advantage 

  • Strong drive, able to work independently

  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to interact and partner with regional and local teams to achieve objective

  • Occasional travel in Asia may be required
