Senior Manager, Training and Development (Partnership Distribution)

Location: Hong Kong, HK

Position Objective

  • Assist Head of Partnership Academy and Head of Bancassurance Learning with strategic and entrepreneurial mindset to forge Partnership Academy into a professional entity
  • Drive different projects/initiatives to develop learning solutions to meet/facilitate business needs
  • Responsible to work in partnership with Sales Channel Heads and their teams on the design and delivery of best-in-class training programs and digital learning modules, development of training capabilities and implementation of professional learning solutions for the continued development of the internal stakeholders such as partnership development managers and business advisors
  • Possess business-driven mindset and develop effective learning solutions for the external stakeholders such as brokers, technical representatives and sales leaders of the Brokerage partners and Bancassurance partners
  • Responsible in the planning, development and implementation of the strategic initiatives in the digital learning platform, iPartnership Academy
  • Participate actively in the planning and execution of the strategic initiatives

Roles and Responsibilities

People Management

  • Assist the Head of Bancassurance Learning to provide coaching and training to the junior and new teammates to ensure that they excel in their deliveries of tasks
  • Assist the Head of Bancassurance Learning to enhance the competence of the junior and new teammates by understanding their strengths and areas for improvement and devise a master training plan to uplift their skillsets and professionalism

Stakeholder Management

  • Build cordial relationship with different stakeholders to build a positive image of Partnership Academy
  • Work closely with different stakeholders to discuss, negotiate, design, develop and implement the ideas in our learning solutions to meet and/or facilitate business needs
  • Manage the expectation of different stakeholders and initiate alternatives for hurdles
  • Build relationship with Brokerage partners and Bancassurance partners to instill in them the professional image of Partnership Academy
  • Keep abreast of industry development by attending industry training and/or seminars

Learning Solutions Management

Digital Learning

  • To support the development of digital learning in terms of content development or/and communication plan
  • To provide support to Head of Digital Learning in coordinating digital learning project

Bancassurance Learning

  • Develop long-term plans and strategies with Department Head and Team Head on training roadmap, organization structure, policies, training program, learning solutions, budget, staff development, services and practices in order to accomplish the Department objectives
  • Partner with the Department Head and Team Head in formulating annual business plan and be responsible and accountable for the implementation of such plan
  • Lead and drive the team to identify the training needs of the sales platform of the partners and develop the training programs and roadmap to better equip with the sales team with professional knowledge, product knowledge and ethical selling skills
  • Develop training strategies to support partner’s short term and long term distribution initiatives
  • Ensure the design of the training materials and delivery of the training meets the objective of the targeted audience
  • Increase new producers’ activities and productivity by introducing “activity” elements in the classroom training
  • Concurrent training results tracking and post training analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs and delivery by the performance coach and take the necessary actions after regular review and/or discussion with the partners
  • Coordinate with Company Training Division / external trainer for specific learning solutions and programs and manage the effectiveness of such programs
  • Manage the development of CPD courses and the corresponding accreditation and review the effectiveness and utilization of CPD courses
  • Ensure proper training records,  assessment results,  evaluation results and the relevant documentation are in place

Project Management

  • Closely monitor the progress of delivery from Partnership Academy in relation to the projects initiated by AIAHK, Partnership Distribution, Group Partnership Distribution,  Group Partnership Academy and Partnership Academy
  • Ensure the resources planning for different projects / tasks responsible by Partnership Academy
  • Report the progress to the respective business units promptly

Job Requirements

  • University graduate with minimum of 10 years relevant working experience in the insurance industry and over 2 years managerial experience is preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding on the multi-channel distribution platform, business nature, management structure and insurance business environment
  • Good training sense in terms of course development, design and evaluation
  • Good presentation, communications, and facilitation skills
  • Proficient in written & spoken English and Chinese
  • Proactive, innovative with strong business sense
  • Good analytical and decision making capability
  • Participate in new business initiatives / projects arising from the department’s strategic/operational business plan
  • Good problem solving skill
  • Good coordination skill
  • Good negotiation skill
  • Professional qualification such as CFP would be an advantage
  • Required to be licensed if the job involves regulated activities
