Senior Manager, Actuarial

Location: Hong Kong, HK

Job Summary

Lead the HK Actuarial Local Statutory (Stat) team to deliver timely, high quality and sustainable Hong Kong Insurance Companies Ordinance (HKICO) and other local statutory bases for various internal and external reporting purposes. Champion system & process transformation. Unfold team capacity in order to be more dynamic, insightful and influential.

Roles and Responsibilities

Lead the team to deliver timely, high quality and sustainable HKICO and other  local statutory bases  for various internal and external reporting purposes

  • Ensure timely and accurate for local statutory reporting
  • Ensure compliance of internal and external control and documentation requirement
  • Ensure smooth release of management information and provide insight to management to make business decision
  • Formulate financial strategy for solvency and capital management purpose
  • Collaborate with internal and external working partners to ensure smooth statutory reporting
  • Interact with key stakeholders and manage stakeholder expectation
  • Provide leadership to team member and optimize team resource
  • Champion reinsurance administration and other projects as required  

Champion local statutory reporting system & process transformation

  • Drive continuous improvement in system, process and approach to automate and streamline reporting to facilitate faster and more frequent closing
  • Enable the team to be more analytical focus, and less production focus

Unfold team capacity in order to be more dynamic, insightful and influential

  • Coach and develop team member
  • Empower team member to take challenge and facilitate growth

Job Requirements

  • University / College graduate plus at least 7 years of relevant experience
  • Attained Fellowship in Actuarial professional examination
  • Managerial experience
  • Good leadership, project management and communication skill
  • Solid experience and knowledge in insurance product, valuation and financial reporting. Experience and knowledge in Hong Kong insurance product, HKICO basis is an asset.
  • Experience and knowledge in other reporting basis or pricing is a plus
  • Good written and verbal English skill. Good written and verbal Chinese skill is an advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Proficiency in Actuarial Software e.g. Prophet is an advantage
