Assistant Manager, Derivative Operations
Location: Hong Kong, HK
This position will provide derivative operational supports to the derivative business. It assists the team head on BAU routine of the operation hub to serve AIA business units.
Derivative Operations Related (90%):
•Process derivative related instructions from front offices effectively.
• Coordinate accounts opening and amendments with counterparties, custodian and outsourced vendor; and ensure corresponding setups are completed timely and accurately;
•Verify inputs from outsourced vendor including daily collateral and margin call reports, and ensure all disputes/exceptions are duly resolved by the outsourced vendor on a timely basis;
•Maintain outsourcing service level checklists of outsourced vendor;
•Ensure regulatory reports on associated derivative instruments in local business units are prepared and are uploaded to outsourced vendor or reporting agent.
•Ensure the completeness of supporting documents for new trades at least on monthly basis and do data verification; verify trade input accuracy and completeness.
•Coordinate with internal departments to resolve any accounting and administrative aspects for Investment Derivative Operations (preparation of monthly accruals, reconciliation and service fee payment to service providers)
•Follow up with independent pricing vendor on monthly derivative price validation against the pricing generated from in-house; and coordinate with Middle Office to validate any exception identified.
•Obtain pricing valuation from appropriate pricing source and generate daily MTM data to outsourced vendor;
•Ensure identification and resolution of exceptions, discrepancies or failure including the processing of compensation claims; and escalate any unresolved item to team head on a timely basis.
Additional Roles Assigned (10%):
•Coordinate with IT support team, local business units and outsourced vendor in respect of master data setting;
•Comply with applicable Governance Standards, Policies and Procedures;
Ensure adequate backup coverage;
•Participate in UAT assigned by team head
•Undergraduate degree in business administration or relevant discipline;
•At least 5 years in relevant experience in equity, fixed income derivatives operational supports;
•Knowledge of financial securities markets, language and products as well as legal and regulatory requirements. Hands-on experience within OTC derivatives is a must.
•Familiar with back office operations systems (e.g. Bloomberg)
•Computer proficient including working knowledge of desktop software applications including MS Office applications.
•Ability to work in a small team, self-motivated, proactive and risk-aware;
•Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, planning and analytical skills.
•Ability to work under pressure and under tight deadlines.
